Back / Muddy Waters
Background
Serena Bates's "Muddy Waters" challenges the conventional view of peace as a placid, untroubled state. Instead, this piece invites us to find peace within the turmoil. The swirling, earthy tones and textured layers are not a portrayal of conflict, but rather the very path to its resolution.Just as a river carries sediment, creating a less-than-clear but ultimately life-sustaining current, the peace we seek is often found not by avoiding our struggles, but by moving through them. "Muddy Waters" suggests that true peace is a profound acceptance of life's complexities, an ability to find clarity and calm not in the absence of chaos, but in the midst of it.
